In 2003, the U.S. National Weather Service began to release its 7-day forecast data on a national basis (NDFD), experimentally.* WeatherMatrix is now producing maps, animations, and archives from this data on a daily basis. Choose from the available graphics below. Forecasts from the ETA Computer Forecast Model will also soon be available.

  NOTICE: THE COMPUTER CONTAINING DATA HAS FAILED... MAPS MAY NOT RETURN... The NWS is now aggressively producing their own maps of NDFD data. For thie reason, WeatherMatrix is probably going to discontinue our maps in 2005. We will be archiving the NWS's maps. If you would like to issue comments to WeatherMatrix regarding this decision please feel free.

Most data is available out to 6 or 7 days depending on whether it is the morning evening run. At this time, any courseness, missing data blocks, or disagreement between NWS Zones is the responsibility of the National Weather Service; contact them here for comments on the data. If you would like to issue comments to WeatherMatrix regarding our maps, animation, or archives, please do. Keep in mind that this is an experimental service.*

* The NWS is doing this until at least September 30th 2003 but there is no guarantee that this data will be available after that date. Because this service is experimental, there is also no guarantee that the WeatherMatrix versions of the forecasts will be available at any particular time. Our access to the data is limited by the NWS public servers.
